As Christians, we still live in a fallen world and face temptations and bad habits from our old life. We are told to take up our cross DAILY and follow Christ. In that following we come under attack. We show ourselves to be a threat to the enemy of Satan. Sometimes we feel like we are being closed in and hope is diminishing. What do we do in those instances? Pastor John Samuel Barnett provides guidance from the Lord’s Word on what to do.https://youtu.be/jNPSP8T_fUA(From 2016JUL24 – SWS-25 – The Simple-Faith Shield that Works Each Time We Use It)

This week, we saw how important it is for believers to not seclude themselves in a vacuum whose seal is broken only on Sundays. We are constantly to seek other believers out and check them out and check in with them. This is how we help ourselves and others grow in the faith God has given us. So for this week’s Q&A, Pastor John Samuel Barnett gives us the context for when we should confess our sins to one another in the church.

Once we are made believers, it is not time to set the cruise control on and coast in only doing good. Our old self is transformed into a new creation. And unlike before where we could ONLY do what our nature sinfully wanted us to do, what we desired to do; now we are given the ability to choose to follow God’s way or return to form and old patterns. Pastor John Samuel Barnett gives us what to do when we are tempted to sin.

A healthy believer does not just engage in intaking the things of God but also exhaling. Pastor John Samuel Barnett encourages us to grow by exhaling in prayer and witnessing to others about God moving in our lives.

Now that we have a way, among others, to help to combat the sin that we struggle with on a daily basis, how do we grow? Pastor John Samuel Barnett provides the way that we grow and that’s by feeding on and applying God’s Word in our lives. The Bible isn’t something that esoterically understood where we have to seek a guru and by attempting to not understand it we understand it. God’s Word is useful and applicable and knowable. We just have to be willing to put in the work to hear the voice of our Creator echoing, daily, in His Word.

Coming out of the Lord’s Day where we experience fellowship with other believers in the shared experience in worshiping our God, we can launch off that to the application of what we have learned, shared, and exalted. Christians aren’t located in a vacuum for six days and alone unless in a church building, as Pastor John Samuel Barnett provides in today’s video, believers are able to encourage each other. Today’s video shows us how to do so.

This week we looked at the fact that God uses means to carry out His sovereign will. This week’s Q&A with Pastor John Samuel Barnett answers the question, “Did Jesus have to die on the cross or was there other ways He could have? A very interesting question; and with God’s Word, a very interesting answer.

God’s people do not fight against the world alone. The New Testament from the Gospels through Revelation talk about the Church needing to get along with itself and build itself up. Why? Well, one of the reasons is that the Church is the means by which God gets His message to the people of the world. We believers can take confidence that it is solely in God’s power to save. However, we should be stirred to action since God enters into an amazing relationship with us in giving us this amazing blessing to go into the whole world and proclaim His message.
Pastor John Samuel Barnett shows us that God does indeed use our voices to build His Church.
