Psalm 57. Probably one of David’s scariest times of his life. Having been running from King Saul and his men who wanted to kill David, he fled to a cave – backed into a literal rock and a hard place.
In the psalm, David does not pull any punches about his situation. He states his circumstances and his feeling accurately. Yet, through and through David has faith that the Lord will save him. Do you have this hope as well? When faced with trials do you abide under the shadow of God’s wing? Or do you have faith in yourself first and only turn to God as a last ditch effort? Let our hearts always be steadfast on the Lord.
